Why Sigma Kappa Became My Home Away From Home

Hey! Welcome to The Versher Post! Today I am going to share my experience being in Sigma Kappa.

On September 23rd, 2018 I became a founding member of the Alpha Omega chapter of Sigma Kappa at The University of Alabama.

Sigma Kappa Pledge Class of 2018

I was hesitant about joining a sorority my freshman year but could not pass up the opportunity my sophomore year.

I have made so many new friends and I know they will be my forever sisters.

The first sister I made was Emma. She was in two of my classes and we became even closer joining Sigma Kappa.

It was exciting doing different sisterhood activities.

The LC’s (Leadership Consultants) have put our chapter together so amazing. Sara, Natalie and Taylor you have been nothing but helpful and supportive and I thank you for putting everything together for us. Especially the twin reveal that bought me someone special.

So we had a twin reveal. I had never met my twin before being paired with her and I can say I’m so happy to have her. She’s been amazing and supportive. Her name is Jordan.

Another exciting event was initiation. My mom and aunt decided to come along on the journey with me and joined Sigma Kappa as alumna initiates.

I have also met a few more friends along the way.

Mackenzie has been great. She is always my go to when I need to talk. She’s so gorgeous and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.

Lorin and I became friends later in the SK experience but it has felt like we have been friends since the beginning. We decorated the house for Christmas and went on countless adventures. She also keeps me very motivated for the gym.

I would also like to give a shoutout to a few other girls who have made an impact on my life. I would like to thank Hannah Landers, Julia, Gabby, Rian, Sarah E, Katie Brothers and Katie Jo. You guys keep being great and a light in my life.

Also to Sarah the house mom. You have been nothing but great and I appreciate what you do for me.

Sigma Kappa has bought me so many new experiences and opportunities and I am forever grateful.

I hope you feel more connected to the part of my life that is Sigma Kappa. Follow if you haven’t already and see you next time!
